Yen Shin Lai discusses switching control techniques to enhance the efficiency of AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC converters, and motor drives, including brushless DC motors. Joint control of distributed renewable energy sources for dynamic local and grid services: new concepts and implementations

Bogdan Marinescu, supported by other researchers, will explore new strategies for the integration of distributed renewable energy sources into electrical grids. The tutorial introduces the Dynamic Virtual Power Plant (DVPP) concept, examines decentralized control solutions, and presents results from experimental validations and case studies.

Smart Gate Driver Design for GaN/SiC

This tutorial, presented by Ching-Jan Chen and Yi-Rong Huang (National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan), covers the key design aspects of GaN and SiC gate drivers for power converters. It explains the benefits of GaN/SiC technologies, critical design challenges, and considerations for high-performance applications. Practical examples and experimental validation results are also provided to guide optimal gate driver development for wide-bandgap devices.

HVDC GREEN Dissemination Project: HVDC and HVDC Tapping Prospect in Indonesia

Tutorial Objective :
Roni Irnawan, along with Rian Fatah Mochamad (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia), Sanjay K. Chaudary (Aalborg University, Denmark), and Hanchi Zhang and (Aalborg University, Denmark) will present insights from the HVDC GREEN project supporting Indonesia’s energy transition. The tutorial addresses HVDC control for weak grid connections, AC network reinforcement, and the integration of lower-power renewable energy sources. Lessons learned from the collaboration between Universitas Gadjah Mada and Aalborg University in advancing HVDC technologies are also discussed.

Electromagnetic Compatibility of Switched-Mode Power Supplies

Guenter Keller presents the fundamentals of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in switched-mode power supplies, focusing on noise mitigation, regulatory standards, coupling mechanisms, and practical noise reduction techniques such as EMC filters and PCB layout design. Measurement examples and simulations are used to illustrate interference sources and mitigation strategies.
